For a quick getaway we went to Eureka for three days.
We wondered around old town Eureka and Ferndale.
The architecture of the buildings were beautiful.
We ate at the Samoa Cookhouse. From 1900 to 1930
meals were and still are, served Lumber-Camp style, on rows of tables. There is no menu, you are served what is cooked that day. For lunch we had ham and all the fixings and dinner was bbq ribs. They even make their own bread and it is thickly cut and warm.
There is a museum of all the old equipment used there.
We walked around Ferndale admiring the architecture.
